Joseph Vento focuses his practice on management defense in employment and labor law counseling. Joe has experience mediating and litigating employment discrimination, harassment, whistle-blowing, retaliation, wrongful discharge and other employment-related cases before federal and state courts. He also defends administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and local fair practice employment agencies. Joe has defended against Employment Practices Liability Insurance and Directors & Officers claims.
Joe also conducts workplace investigations into claims of discrimination, retaliation and sexual harassment. He counsels employers on various employment matters including employee discipline, terminations, reasonable disability and faith based accommodations, restrictive covenants, background checks, overtime policies, PTO policies and worker classification. Joe negotiates and drafts employment, settlement and separation agreements, and drafts employment handbooks and other employment practice policies.
In addition to his counseling experience, Joe has litigated commercial matters such as partnership disputes, contractual disputes, fraud and other business torts.
