New Equal Employment Opportunity Poster Required

Employers must immediately update their EEO postings.  The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has revised its mandatory poster to reflect recent changes to federal employment discrimination laws.  The new poster includes information about the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (which went into effect November 21, 2009) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008.  The revised poster also includes updates from the Department of Labor.

Employers have the option of either posting a supplement next to their existing "EEO is the Law" poster or posting the revised "EEO is the Law" poster.  Both are available on the EEOC website at http://www1.eeoc.gov/employers/poster.cfm.  Copies of the new poster may also be ordered directly from the EEOC.

If you have any questions about this new posting requirement, please contact the Nukk-Freeman & Cerra attorney with whom you normally work.
