Liza J. Hecht has over 19 years of legal and consulting experience regarding the application of the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA to a broad array of employee benefit plans. Working with US-based employers and employees, as well as global corporations and cross-border employees, Ms. Hecht has consulted on the design, implementation and operation of numerous programs, including executive compensation arrangements, such as equity (stock options, stock appreciation rights, employee stock purchase plans, restricted stock and phantom stock) and traditional deferred compensation plans, severance pay arrangements, retirement plans (401(k), SERPs, pensions) and welfare benefit programs. She has extensive experience drafting plan documents and summary plan descriptions, as well as performing due diligence and transitional consulting with respect to employee benefit programs in corporate transactions. Ms. Hecht has successfully represented companies before the Internal Revenue Service in connection with operational failures of their qualified plans and consulted on correction procedures. |
